PEX-AL-PEX pipeis created with three layers: an inner PEX layer, an aluminum center and outer PEX layer. This type of PEX pipe can be used for radiant heating, snow melting systems and potable water. It combines the benefits of an Oxygen-Barrier with stronger pipe that handles higher pressures. Oxygen-Barrier PEX pipe is used for heating systems including radiant floor heating or solar applications. Non-Barrier PEX is the standard pipe used for hot and cold potable plumbing.
